How to workout at home when you can’t get to the gym

A good workout does not necessarily need fancy gym equipment or health centres. All you need is the right motivation and some guidance to get it right! Besides, with our hectic schedules and increasing workload, there is barely anytime to keep up with a ideal fitness routine that involves going to the gym. Whatever your reason maybe, a good workout is the answer! 


Join us as we explore just how to get that intense workout at home and figure out stages that can will make for a great fitness routine at home! 


There are five steps you need to follow for the perfect workout session that will leave you feeling energetic and envigaroted. 

Make sure sure consistent with the workout plan to have a definite result within a short period of time. 


Here are the five steps - 


  • Warm-up 
  • Cardio workout 
  • Resistance training 
  • Flexibility exercises
  • Cool down 

The first and foremost step is a Warm-up! A warm up helps your body to prepare for a intense workout and avoid getting after workout pains or soreness in body. A warm up can be anything, from a brisk walk to jog on a treadmill or  slow pace cycling on a stationary bike. ( you can also opt for a workout without equipment )


After the warm up, you move on to a slow pace cardio workout and slowly increase the pace/intensity to avoid getting lethargic quickly. 

You can follow a aerobic workout video, or jump rope. Cardiovascular portion needs to be intense where you also enjoy the adrenaline and get your heart rate up at the same time. 


Coming to the resistance training, do a simple routine of squats, push-ups and abdominal crunches. You can even do weight training with dumbbells, a weight bar or tubing. 


The next step is the flexibility exercises. You can increase the flexibility of your body with certain yoga poses or floor stretches. Flexibility exercises are an impoetent component of any fitness program. 


The last stage of your home workout session is the cool down. Your cool down regime can be very similar as the warm up exercise. 


The cardio aerobic workout and resistance training can be clubbed together or performed separately. 

Do not skip the warming up or cooling down exercises at any cost!
